The first recording today is an episode of Space 1999 – Another Time, Another Place. It’s another one that I’ve looked at on one of my tapes.
Media Centre Description: Intergalactic adventures of the space-travelling Moonbase Alpha team. The Moon is sucked into a vortex and duplicates itself and all the Alpha inhabitants.
Recorded from ITV4 on Saturday 22nd December 2007 14:58
After this the recording stops as an episode of The Professionals starts.
The next recording starts with the end of an old episode of Till Death Us Do Part.
There’s a trail for BBC Four’s Dance Season.
Then, another chance to see Lead Balloon – Debacle from a couple of days ago.
That recording cut off before the very end, so I missed the credits scene where Rick is filming Michael giving his packing and travel advice. I like the Thunderbirds Are Go poster.
Media Centre Description: Rick hosts an event for a pharmaceutical company. His stand-up goes down surprisingly well, but some of his ill-advised gags have far-reaching consequences. Meanwhile, one of Mel’s clients is presenting a new holiday programme, ‘What Not to Pack’, and Rick suggests Michael should be on the show. But Rick soon has bigger things to worry about, as he finds himself propelled into the spotlight – as public enemy number one.

Recorded from ITV1 on Saturday 22nd December 2007 22:13
The recording stops with the start of the ITN News.
The next recording starts with the end of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.
There’s a trail for The Terminal and the After You’ve Gone Christmas Special.
Then, an episode of Comedy Connections – Shooting Stars.
Obviously we hear from Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.
Charlie Higson: “It’s always slightly mystified me that Vic and Bob were seen as this impenetrable, weird, surrealist act, and I think that was mainly a perception of Southerners. Northerners always accepted them as just a couple of funny guys.”
Their producer Alan Marke.
Director Mark Mylod cut his teeth on the show, and would go on to direct Game of Thrones and Succession.
Ulrika Jonsson was spotted when she was the target of a Noel’s House Party Gotcha!
Matt Lucas: “And they wanted me to wear a nappy. And I put my foot down. I said, I don’t want to wear a nappy on television. I’ll wear a blue romper suit, and it came and it was pink, so that is compromise.”
Will Self: “Very rapidly what I found out when I began working with Jim and Bob was that they didn’t want me to be myself. It was a kind of, you know, anti -psychotherapy in that way and that they were determined to impose upon me this persona so that I could take up this team captain role and, you know, their perception of me was that I was kind of, you know, viciously erudite this kind of know-it-all who was full of arcane words.”
Producer Lisa Clark remembers Matt Lucas singing a song called Peanuts, which made everyone in the studio crack up. “after we recorded the song the director said to me we’ll go again then on that will we? I said no absolutely not that’s what Shooting Stars is about. That is funny, you don’t need to do anything else to that, let’s move on, you can’t get better than that.”
Media Centre Description: Series charting the history of the best of British comedy shows. Shooting Stars was the most anarchic and unpredictable gameshow ever seen on British TV. Appearing alongside Vic reeves and Bob Mortimer in their slice of slapstick, surreality and silliness, were acerbic stand-up comedian Mark Lamarr and erstwhile weather girl Ulrika Jonsson.
