So now we reach Christmas Day 2007. Starting with something small.

The recording starts with the end of Tikkabilla featuring a very young looking Justin Fletcher.

There’s a guide on making an icicle.

Then, Charlie and Lola: Songs and InterstitialsBat Cat. Yes, this programm for very young children really did use the word Interstitials in its title. Well, its title in Media Centre anyway, if not actually on screen. Still, start them young in their TV nerdery, I say.

This is a slightly extended version of the theme to Bat Cat.

Media Centre Description: Children’s animation. Join Lola and Charlie, a brother and sister, as they deal with topics that affect their everyday lives.

After this there’s a Christmas trail.

Andy plays Post the Christmas Parcel.

Then the recording stops with the start of Postman Pat.

Next, dear reader, I have a confession to make. It’s Christmas Day 2007, and the one programme I don’t appear to have recorded is Doctor Who. I’ve no idea why. I feel very ashamed. I’ve let you all down, and worst of all, I’ve let myself down.

So the next recording starts with the end of To The Manor Born. Not a repeat, but a brand new episode, still starring Penelope Keith and Peter Bowles, with a guest part for Alexander Armstrong.

There’s a trail for Ballet Shoes. And one for Meet the Fockers.

So in place of that, how about The Catherine Tate Christmas Show with the past (and future) Doctor Who star bringing us some comedy once we’re all stuffed.

Nan is upset that her grandson hasn’t got her a present, despite her insisting he mustn’t.

Kathy Burke plays her daughter.

And Nitin Ganatra plays her daughter’s new man.

Liam Cunningham plays an Irish priest.

There’s a fantastic guest appearance from George Michael. Catherine Tate’s randy nurse asks him “Do you want my sex?” He replies, with great comic timing, “Do you not read the papers, love?”

The man in the Dirty Bastards couple has been recast – wasn’t it Kevin McNally before?

Lauren spits some lyrics.

There’s the proud Irish mum whose son is gay.

Her son is played by Colin Morgan off of Merlin.

Tom Ellis plays Sam Speed, run down by a car, who’s woken up in 1951.

With a guest appearance by Phillip Glenister.

And Una Stubbs.

Lee Ross appears in the couple who can’t stop laughing about everything.

Lauren and her friends go kayaking.

She ignores the safety warnings, and rides over a waterfall.

The show closes with George Michael duetting with the nurse on Fairytale of New York, and it’s brilliant.

There’s a sad coda though.

Here’s someone else’s upload of this. I thought it was really good.

Media Centre Description: It’s Christmas Day and Catherine Tate comes bearing gifts in the shape of our favourite comedy characters. Bernie the nurse invites a famous patient to the karaoke party, Lauren spits some lyrics and learns to kayak, whilst Nan invites her daughter and new boyfriend over for Christmas dinner.

After this, there’s a trail for the Extras Christmas Special.

Then the recording stops with the start of the late news.

The final recording today is something we’ve seen before. It’s a repeat of Romancing the Stone.

Media Centre Description: Fast-paced action comedy in which a dowdy romantic-adventure writer is hurled into a real-life adventure in the Colombian jungle in order to save her sister, who will be killed if a treasure map is not delivered to her captors. She is helped out by a brash mercenary, and together they search for the priceless gem located in the map. A non-stop mix of thrills, laughter and romance with energetic performances all round.

The recording finishes with a trail for Radio 5 Live Football.
