The first recording today starts with the end of DinoSapien.

There’s a trail for Eliot Kid.

And a trail for Adventure Rock.

Then, it’s an episode of Blue Peter. I guess they’re no longer doing the show from one of the big TVC studios, as this one is tiny.

Andy visits Nigeria and goes to church with his granny.

He visits the house he grew up in.

We hear from a Sikh girl about how they celebrate their festival Vaisakhi.

Andy goes back to his school in Birmingham, where his family moved when he was young, and meets his first teacher.

Then he’s back in Nigeria visiting his old school there. “I remember all these songs.”

Gethin has had to learn Bhangra dancing.

Fun fact – I worked with the current editor of Blue Peter, Tim Levell, before he got the job (after longtime editor Richard Marson had to quit over the phone voting scandals). Tim was the producer of a project called iCan, which was a grassroots organising website that we developed on the DNA platform, which we rote originally for h2g2.com and when the BBC took that over after The Digital Village ran out of money, we expanded the platform to support lots of different sites, and most of the BBC Messageboards. iCan was one of those custom sites, so I worked fairly closely with Tim and his content team. They were a nice bunch. That was also the time that I briefly met Amanda Platell, as she did something for the site.

Media Centre Description: Information, topical items and performance in the children’s magazine. Gethin dances in the studio and we reach ‘P’ for the Pipa Pipa frog in the A-Z of weird animals.

After this there’s a trail for Beat the Boss.

Then the recording stops with the start of Newsround.

The next recording starts with the end of Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies.

Chris and Pui sing a song.

There’s another Trolley Polly sketch.

Then it’s a repeat of Charlie and LolaI Really Wonder What Plant I’m Growing.

Media Centre Description: Children’s animation. Join Lola and Charlie, a brother and sister, as they deal with topics that affect their everyday lives. Charlie is growing a big tomato plant and Lola wants to grow something too. Mum gives her a seed and Lola can’t help but imagine a whole host of exotic and exciting plants that her seed might grow into: a biscuit plant, or a butterfly plant, or maybe even a singing plant! Charlie tries to teach her that first of all she has to learn to look after her plant.

After this there’s another trail for Catherine Tate’s Bedtime Story.

And Chris tells us his dreams.

Then the recording stops with the start of Rubbadubbers.

The final recording today starts with a full trail for the new series of Heroes.

Then, in a change to the scheduled programme (because this was postponed from last week) it’s a repeat of TorchwoodExit Wounds.

Media Centre Description: Science-fiction crime drama series set in Cardiff. Captain John returns to have his revenge. Taking Captain Jack prisoner, he sends him back in time for a long overdue reunion. Meanwhile, Cardiff is flooded with Weevils. Who is Captain John really working for?

Recorded from BBC TWO on Tuesday 15th April 2008 18:58

After this there’s a trail for the next episode of Doctor Who.
