Another team have to get through the field of corpses, and are more successful than the team in the previous episode.
This game is more It’s A Knockout.

There’s a trail for Adventure Rock.
Then, it’s another episode of Raven – The Secret Temple. I think this one comes after the one yesterday.
This is another one that isn’t good if you have a fear of heights.
This task seems incredibly hard. They have to keep walking round the circle, and there’s a hook in the middle of the rope.
The hook has to pick up the ball in the middle – that’s a really small loop, especially when both sides with the rope have to keep walking.
There’s an archery task, which some struggle with, but this lad hit the target on his first try.
One team loses a player.
There’s a disagreement between the two remaining players as to whether to spend jewels to bring her back. The girl (who is also team leader) says yes, the boy says no. So he’s not popular when she decides to spend the jewels and bring her back.
Media Centre Description: The four teams of warriors undertake their 11th virtue tasks set in the searing heat of the colourful Indian landscape. Can they triumph as the Eagles face the Pillars, the Wolves take on the Enchanted Demons, the Tigers test their accuracy at Archery and the Panthers must endure the Temple Spirit Run? Nevar continues his evil plan to thwart the warrior’s progress.

There’s a trail for Clifford The Big Red Dog and “Goodbye Sub Hello Moon”. Then the recording stops with the start of Mama Mirabelle’s Home Movies.
The next recording starts with the end of Shark.
The it’s an episode of House – Clueless. This is a second season episode so out of continuity with the others we’ve seen recently.
The patient here is taken ill when he’s apparently raping a woman, but it’s actually a sex game with his wife, but in either case he’s lost my sympathy.
Wilson is staying with House and keeping him awake.
At the clinic, House diagnoses a married man with Herpes, and since he says he has only slept with his wife, House tells him his wife must be cheating with their daughter’s karate teacher.
The main patient’s wife is played by Samantha Mathis. Everyone seems very interested in the fact that they had a threesome recently. I really think I must be weird for thinking a threesome sounds like the most awful idea imaginable. Every character on every TV show and film seem to think it’s the ultimate thing.
House can juggle.
He discovers that Wilson is a really good cook.
Cuddy has to deal with an angry wife. “I am not having an affair with my daughter’s karate instructor, and I did not give my husband herpes.”
“It’s not lupus.”
House suspects the patient’s wife is poisoning him with heavy metals, and he wants to do an internal body search to find where she’s hiding whatever she’s using.
House tries smoothing over the couple with herpes. “Either you two ever sit on a public toilet? Well? Of course. Herpes can live for short periods of time outside the body. Dr. House, you know you can’t get herpes– Some politically correct doctors will tell you that it’s impossible to get infected by a toilet seat, but they’ll also tell you not to use the same bath towel to dry your crotch and your face during an outbreak.”
Wilson has hired a maid.
House uses a test that turns gold purple, on the wife’s hand, to prove she’s been poisoning her husband. “Now either, your fingers actually are worth their weight in gold, or you’ve been sprinkling your husband’s cereal with gold sodium thiomalate. It’s an arthritis remedy that it’s rarely used here in the in the U.S., but it’s still popular in Mexico. Gotta give you props. I’ve never heard of anyone using gold before. It’s almost… poetic.”
Media Centre Description: US hospital drama about a maverick, anti-social New Jersey doctor. House believes a woman is trying to kill her husband and tries to find the proof to confirm his suspicions. Meanwhile, Wilson moves in with House after separating from his wife, and House learns that his friend is a great cook.

After this the recording stops with the start of Numb3rs.

Sharing the My Little Town play set that Granny and Grandpa gave them proves to be a challenge for the pair. Charlie plans major construction projects while Lola wants flowers, trees, butterflies and a zoo house. Charlie gets carried away with his empire and hogs the game, and an upset Lola has to decide whether to help save the town from a Martian invasion.

After this there’s a trail for Catherine Tate’s Bedtime Story, and a trail for Louie.
Then the recording stops with the start of Rubbadubbers.
The next recording starts with the end of some Snooker.
There’s a trail for Age of Terror and one for Heroes.
Then there’s a movie, Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator. It’s a long film, and this is already a long entry so I won’t go through the plot in detail, but I’ll mention a couple of things that caught my eye.
Leonardo DiCaprio plays Howard Hughes, here on location of his movie, Hell’s Angels where he’s assembled a large squadron of planes to shoot the aerial sequences.
He doesn’t have enough cameras to get the shots he needs, so he has to go and ask Louis B Mayer, of MGM fame, if he can rent the cameras from him. “I need a few cameras.” “Yeah?” “Yeah, two, to be exact. I already bought every camera I could find. We’re shooting our big dogfight sequence this week and I need two more. Desperately. You think MGM could help me out?” “Well, we’re not usually in the practice of helping out the competition. So how many cameras do you have now?” “Twenty-four.” [SNICKERING] “You… Wait a minute. You have 24 cameras?” “That’s right.” “And you need… And you need two more?” “Yeah.” “You don’t think you got it with 24?”
Adam Scott plays his press agent, Johnny Meyer.
It was bugging me who was playing his engineer, Glenn Odekirk. It’s not Tony Goldwyn, but has a similar face. Then I realised it’s Matt Ross, who played Gavin Belson in Silicon Valley.
He’s unhappy about how the flying sequences don’t give a sense of scale or speed, so he hires mathematician Professor Fitz (Ian Holm) to predict where there will be nice clouds that will provide scale and speed.
The aerial sequence of shooting the film is quite impressive.
John C Reilly plays Noah Dietrich, whom Hughes hired to run the main Hughes company, in Houston, which makes drill bits for oil drilling.
At the wrap party for Hell’s Angels, Hughes shows him The Jazz Singer. “You see, this is what the people want. Silent pictures are yesterday’s news. I figure we gotta reshoot Hell’s Angels for sound.” “How much of it?” “All of it.”
The film is finally finished. Hughes takes its star Jean Harlow to the premiere. She’s played by Gwen Stefani.
Hughes knows how to make an entrance, landing a flying boat on the sea and stepping off onto the beach where Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn are shooting (I think) Sylvia Scarlett.
Talking of Hepburn, she’s a major character in this, as she and Hughes have a relationship. When they first meet, she suggests they play golf. She’s played by Cate Blanchett, and is great fun. The golf scene was when I finally realised what Scorsese had been doing with the colour in this film. The green grass is closer to blue, because Scorsese is simulating the colour reproduction of two-strip Technicolor. Later scenes would change the colour scheme to three-strip Technicolor.
Jude Law makes an appearance playing Errol Flynn.
You can’t say Hughes was hands off. He’s even his own test pilot.
Alec Baldwin plays Juan Trippe, CEO of Pan-Am, and who does everything he can to maintain a monopoly on transatlantic routes when Hughes buys TWA.
Hughes’ famous germophobia plays a big part in this film.
His film, The Outlaw, with Jane Russell, is going to be denied a certificate from the MPAA because “For almost half the picture, the girl’s mammaries, which are quite large and prominent, are shockingly uncovered. For this reason, I have concluded the picture appeals only to prurient interests and should be denied the Motion Picture Association’s seal of approval.” Joseph Breen is played by Edward Herrman.
So Hughes enlists Professor Fitz to prove that her breasts a no more shocking than those of many other movie stars. With science.
Brent Spiner plays a man from Lockheed.
Willem Dafoe plays a publisher who’s got scandalous pictures of Katharine Hepburn with Spencer Tracy (a married man). Hughes buys the pictures to stop them being published.
Kate Beckinsale plays Ava Gardner.
Hughes has a horrific crash testing one of his planes.
His strange behaviour is what I mainly knew about him when I was young, probably when he died in the 70s, so here’s the naked, long-fingernailed, pissing in bottles Hughes that was all I knew until I later learned of his movie career and aviation.
I missed this when watching the film, and only caught it on a freeze frame – the flash revealing a skeleton.
Hughes has to testify to congress to defend against accusations of war-profiteering. He’s up against Alan Alda as Senator Brewster, who’s basically bought and paid for by PanAm.
The climax of the film is the one and only flight of Hughes’ huge troop carrying plane, the Hercules, nicknamed The Spruce Goose.
“Media Centre Description: Oscar-winning biopic charting the life of eccentric film director Howard Hughes over a 20-year period. Breaking into the film industry in 1927, he went on to achieve box-office success, romanced some of his leading ladies and used his millions in an attempt to break the airspeed record.

There’s another 60 Seconds of news.
Trails for Amy: My Body For Bucks and for Blood, Sweat & T-Shirts.
Then this recording stops with the start of Gavin and Stacey.
I was quite excited when I started up the next recording as the first thing on it was a trailer for Iron Man, out in cinemas next month. And I was quite surprised to see that it had part of the very last scene in the film in it. So much of it that I was half expecting them to use the film’s last line. I think they got better at not giving too much away.
Then it’s an episode of The IT Crowd – The Dinner Party.
Jen’s got a new boyfriend. He tells an anecdote about Brie.
“D’you know, it is really important to me that you like him. No, honestly, it is cos I… I know we had some rocky beginnings but I really think of you now, not just as my workmates, but as friends.” “Stop it!” “No, I… I mean that. I really do.”
“Listen, Jen, I’ve got some bad news, Colin can’t make it tonight.” “Oh. But Steve and Jake are still coming?” “Colin was bringing them. I don’t know them well, it’d be uncomfortable without Colin. I suppose we’ll have to to call the whole thing off.”
“Unless you can find three guys to replace them.”
Jen upsets the guys when she says she doesn’t want them to come to the party. Richmond goes into the kitchen and she follows him, but he’s not there. When she leaves the camera pans up.
So, later that evening…
“Ah, thank you, Roy. How lovely. White wine. Never seen a wine actually called “White Wine” before!”
There’s a ring on the doorbell. “Here they are, so look normal.”
There’s Jessica. “Hello, everybody. Oh, my God.” [Air Quotes] “Social situations.” Richmond: “Oh, bloody hell, I think this is my one.”
Paula is a model who has just been in a very bad car accident, so Roy’s not interested, until he sees her latest spread in Vogue. “Wow! That’s you! OK… Yeah… So…how bad was the accident?”
Moss’s dinner party partner is Margaret, played by Strictly Come Dancing star Sarah Hadland. She’s going through a divorce, so she’s determined to have a good time.
Roy tells Jen’s boyfriend Peter he’s got a firefox extension for him, and asks for his email address. “It’s filepeter@hotmail.com.” “Filepeter? And why filepeter?” “Well, File is my second name.” “Oh, right, I see. Peter File.” Moss jumps in. “Who’s a paedophile?” “No, no, his name is Peter File.” “His name is paedophile?” Jen tries to help. “Don’t say it like that! It sounds like “paedophile””.
“Pirates Of The Caribbean!” “How was that Pirates Of The Caribbean?” “I don’t know but it was a great movie! Johnny Depp, what a revelation!” “It’s Crash! It’s very obviously Crash! Here’s a car crashing into another car, there’s people screaming and…oh, Paula!”
Moss and Margaret are acting like an old married couple. “You’re making a fool of yourself!” “He’s a delicate flower.” “You are drunk!” “If you paid more attention to me…” “Oh, tell me, Margaret, tell us all, how could we pay any more attention to you?” “Oh, you’ve changed. You’re not the same man I liked when I came into the party.” “We’ve all changed, Margaret. We all have.”
Roy walks Paula home. He’s impressed with her apartment. But when he asks her out, she apologises and tells him she can do better.
Jen breaks up with Peter when he responds to an announcement asking for him by jumping up and shouting “I’m Peter File” very loudly, over and over again.
