The challenge this week is to build a stretch limo from a regular car you’d see in Britain. Jeremy picks a Fiat Panda.
Richard chooses an MGF convertible.
James chooses two different cars – an Alfa Romeo, and a Saab.
It doesn’t all go smoothly.
Richard’s Limo doesn’t look well suited to bad weather.
Jeremy’s is even longer.
James’ car is double ended.
The Saab end is a sauna, the Alfa end is the Sistine Chapel.
Because the Fiat Panda is a two-door car, passengers have to use a pulley to get to the back.
Billie Piper is the Star in a Reasonably Priced Car.
Richard drives a Mustang.
Back to the challenge and Jeremy’s limo needed to be 7 feet shorter to be legal on UK roads.
The challenge was to take three celebrities to the Brit awards. James collects Lemar.
Richard has to bring Jamelia.
Jeremy drives Chris Moyles.
And before it gets to Earl’s Court, it cracks in half.
Media Centre Description: Motoring magazine show with Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond. This week they build their own stretch limos out of the most improbable cars and then use them to take some top celebrities to the Brit Awards. Meanwhile, a good ol’ boy Ford Mustang whoops around the test track and Billie Piper is the star in a reasonably priced car.

The next recording starts with the Weather and trails for Christina: A Medieval Life and I’d Do Anything and the Russell Brand Radio 2 promo.
Then it’s an episode of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
His first guest is Robert Downey Jr, there to promote Iron Man. There’s an amusing moment when Jonathan, being a huge Comics nerd, says “You should see my house. I’ve got a metal Iron Man helmet I bought, and the other day I took a delivery of a metal Dr. Doom helmet with a cape. You want to see that sometime?” And I can’t help being amused that Downey’s next appearance in the MCU will be as Dr Doom.
The next guest is Michael Aspel, retiring from the Antiques Roadshow.
Jonathan shows him a clip from 40 years ago in which he is explaining cheques. I think that the programme, Scene, was a programme for schools, which might explain it, as Aspel clearly has no idea why it exists.
The last guest is another Iron Man star Gwyneth Paltrow.
There’s music from the Ting Tings, doing their hit.
Media Centre Description: Celebrity chat show with the irreverent Jonathan Ross. Guests are Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, controversial A-lister Robert Downey Jr, broadcasting legend Michael Aspel, who recently announced his retirement from Antiques Roadshow, plus music from The Ting Tings live in the studio.
