Big Bang Day: Five Particles – 11 Sept 2008

Today, we have another episode of Big Bang Day: Five Particles looking at neutrinos.

It’s available on BBC Sounds.

Media Centre Description: The Neutrino: Fourth of five programmes in which Simon Singh examines the significance of subatomic particles. The neutrino is the most common particle in the universe. Millions of these virtually undetectable subatomic particles are continuously passing through each of us. However, they can betray their presence by bumping into things at high energy. Detectors hidden in mines are exploiting this to observe these rare interactions.
