Just one recording today, an episode of 30 Rock – The ‘C’ Word.
In the writer’s room, Liz has a go at Lutz for his lame ideas. “Hey, what about my Dancing With The Hobo sketch?” “I didn’t like it two weeks ago when it was called America’s Next Top Hobo, and I didn’t like it a month ago when it was called Hobo Eye for the Straight Guy.” “Deal or No Hobo?” “Hey, Lutz, why don’t you approach your job with the same creativity and excitement you have for all you can eat buffets?”
For a charity golf tournament being run by NBC, Kenneth is paired with Grace Park, with whom he has a slight past.
There’s another appearance from Rachel Dratch as a cat wrangler. “They like you. They’re very good at sensing debilitating loneliness in a person.”
But while she’s there, Liz overhears Lutz call her the C-word.
Jack has brought Tracy to the golf do, so that he’ll be invited to play golf with Don Geiss, the head of the company, because Tracy is Don Geiss’s granddaughter’s favourite.
Liz tells Pete and Frank that they have to fire Lutz, but they tell her that Lutz’z grandma died. Liz realises that maybe she has been a terrible boss something, with flashbacks. “Hey, look, everybody. Sherlock Homo is here to solve the case of the gay sweater.”
Don Geiss (played by Rip Torn) meets Tracy, and is very excited to meet him. Until Tracy starts asking why there are so few black people there.
Liz wants to be a nice boss so she bakes cakes for everyone, and brings a bag full of superballs.
Tracy continues to wind up Jack on the golf course.
But at the dinner that evening, after Don Geiss has made his big speech, Tracy walks up to the mic, and delivers a heartfelt speech about how his daughter has diabetes, and he really wants to raise awareness. After the speech, Don Geiss is totally on-side. “I want you and Tracy to come up and we’ll talk about getting you back into movie business.” “I’ll set that up, sir.” “Okay. Tracy, bring your daughter.” “That’s a deal.” “Thanks again, gents.” “Congratulations, Tracy, and welcome to the grown-up world.” “Yeah. I don’t have a daughter.” “Let’s have a casting session on Monday.”
Kenneth and Grace almost make it. “So to quote Mr. Jerry Maguire, you make me a complete person.” “When you said hello, you had me.”
After letting all the writers go home early the day before, and staying up all night to rewrite their sketches, Liz makes a sleep-deprived speech to reassert her authority. “I am the boss here, and sometimes that’s going to make me unpopular. But the point is, I know what you called me, Lutz.” “Oh, I’m sorry that I said that. Please don’t make me move back to Alaska, Liz. I hate it there.” “You can stay. But if you ever, if any of you ever call me that horrible word again, I will fire you, and you will never alter drapes in Atlanta again because you do not cross a sugar-baker woman! I’m so tired.”
Media Centre Description: Sitcom set behind the scenes of a late-night sketch comedy show. Liz is horrified to discover what the writers really think of her when she overhears Lutz calling her an extremely offensive name; and Tracy embarrasses Jack at a prestigious charity golf tournament.

After this, the recording ends with the start of Quiz Call. This is an evil programme. Quite appalling.
