The first recording today starts with the end of Richard and Judy promoting a BBC One show, The One and Only with Carrie Grant and some competitors.
Then, it’s The Simpsons – Two-Dozen-and-One Greyhounds. It’s the one where Mr Burns steals greyhounds to make a tuxedo. I’ve got this on a tape.

After this, the recording ends with the start of Hollyoaks.
The next recording is the next episode of Moving Wallpaper. Nancy is telling Jonathan off.
Tom is winding up Carl about his infatuation with Jonathan’s assistant Kelly.
Jonathan makes Gillian cry in a script meeting, because he doesn’t realise she’s recently been mugged.
Jonathan tries to make it up to her by driving her round the studio in a Buggle. It doesn’t help much, especially when he nearly runs down a cast member.
Jonathan feels left out that he never gets included in the office tea run. “Because, well, you’ve got your own private office and your own kettle and coffee machine and fridge. I think everyone assumes you’re OK for hot drinks. It’s the same reason Elton John doesn’t get income support.”
Carl says something unwittingly offensive to Kelly, and keeps trying to apologise. I like the fact that Martine McCutcheon is there reading her mail and they completely ignore her.
Jonathan moves his desk to the writers’ table, just so he’ll be included in the tea run. He also makes Gillian cry again.
“He’s great. I think he’s great in this, Jason, isn’t he? Yeah, he’s very good. I mean, he’s how a real man should be, you know. Strong, but sensitive. Tough, but noble. He wouldn’t diss your mum while staring at your tits, would he?” “Well, his character wouldn’t.”
Gillian is asked to identify some suspects in her mugging. She’s conflicted. “they might have got the wrong guy, which happens sometimes. You know Birmingham 6, Guildford 4?” Carl and Tom pitch in. “Fun Boy 3.” “Dave Clark 5.” “S Club 7.” “UB 40.” “Level 42.” “Haircut 100.” … “No, I’m out.”
In retaliation for Jonathan sitting at their table, the writers move into his office.
Suzie Amy now wants a backstory for her character. “I think she should have a laptop of some sort, like a Sony Vaio or a Dell.” But Jonathan leaves to accompany Gillian to the police station to identify the suspects.
He’s back later, without Gillian. “Where’s Gillian?” “Oh, still at the police station.” “All right, so she is pressing charges against the guy.” “Actually, I think the guy might be pressing charges against her. Yeah, she attacked him.” “Attacked him?” “Shouting “bastard bastard”. Just saw his face and snapped. Had to be pulled off him by two policemen. She felt bad afterwards, but also really, really good, you know?”
But then he gets a text. “Oh, my God. It’s from Gillian’s stolen mobile. You know, the one the muggers took. ‘Your bitch friend mashed up my mate today. That is disrespect. I know where you work. I’m going to come there and shoot you in the head. You are a dead man.'”
He quickly has his office fitted with a security system.
Gillian returns. Nobody’s pressing charges. They tell her about the call. “The guy who stole your phone sent him a threatening text, so he’s barricaded himself in.” “He’s got a face like Anne Frank when the milkman knocked for his money.” “Oh, poor sod.” “So traumatic as it all was. Something good came out of getting your bag nicked.” “Yeah.” “What?” “Well, you’re right. I did get my bag nicked. Keep my phone in my coat. I think I write pretty good street dialogue.”
Media Centre Description: Companion show to ITV’s new soap Echo Beach, following the fictional crew behind the scenes as they endeavour to create a hit show. Jonathan’s attempts to be more of a team player backfire when he irritates the writers and upsets Gillian, who has been recently mugged. He avoids Susie’s suggestions by accompanying Gillian to the police station, but then becomes the victim of some vicious threats.

The last recording today is Jack Dee Live. I’ve probably mentioned before how I saw Jack Dee at the Old Town Hall Cellar Comedy Club when he was the support act for Nick Revell. He was good even then.
Media Centre Description: Following his sell-out UK tour, Jack Dee returns to the Hammersmith Apollo to deliver some more of his trademark deadpan comedy.

Here’s the ad breaks from The Simpsons.
The ad breaks from Moving Wallpaper.
The Jack Dee stand-up was edited so there’s no ad breaks in that.
