After this, the Thursday Comedy trail again, FA Cup Football and a Holby themed iPlayer promo.
The recording stops with another truncated Torchwood Declassified.
John Barrowman: “Production wise for sleeper it’s andambitious script because there’s so many different elements involved, special effects CGI explosions, you know, prosthetics, the works.”
Eve Myles: “They are like films when they come to you because the scale of what you’ve got within the within the story is massive.”
Russell T Davies: “I mean, it’s a challenge when when you get a script like episode two’s in to match it because none of us wanted to pull back on it.”
Richard Stokes: “I don’t think we realised quite how action packed it was until we all just sat there and watched the whole thing on a big screen and thought ‘this is relentless'”.
Writer James Moran: “I just wanted to do an episode with lots of chases and explosions and trauma and emotion and heartache. Luckily, they they just said to me, you know, whatever you want to do, however far you want to take it, go there.”
Colin Teague: “I think what people have got to understand is that you know the preparation that it started about two months prior.”
Yay! It’s Danny Hargreaves talking about the telephone exchange explosion. We learn that the day before they were ready to shoot the explosion, there was an attack on Glasgow Airport by a car. So they had to make lots of announcements and warnings. As a result, they had a lot of people coming to watch.
I love Colin Teague’s reaction to the monitor when the explosion goes off.
The recording cuts off there, but here’s the whole episode.
The next recording starts with the end of London Tonight. There’s this story about a man who hid his house from his neighbours behind bales of hay to avoid planning permission regulations.

Recorded from ITV1 on Thursday 24th January 2008 22:33
The next recording is an episode of 30 Rock – Hard Ball. Jenna is doing a photoshoot for Maxim.
Tracy asks Kenneth if he wants to be part of his entourage.
Jenna is misquoted in the magazine. “Ugh! I hate theatre troupes. They think what they do is so important. But it’s just a bunch of gay guys that like to get in silly costumes and prance around.”
Kenneth beats Tracy at Halo, which Gris and Dotcom never do. They he sees Gris beating Halo. “If Kenneth could beat me, and you could beat Kenneth, then by the transitive property, you should beat me, too. Have you been letting me win?” He sacks Gris and Dotcom.
Jenna needs to go on a talk show and reaffirm her support for the troops. “You could say that you support the troops, but you feel that the war was poorly planned and started under false pretenses, and that we should have used those resources to hunt down Osama bin Laden. Okay, what are you going to do if they ask you about 08?” “Well, of course I want Hillary to be the first woman president.” “Ugh, no, Obama. You support Barack Obama. Remember, you like those pictures of him at the beach?” “Oh, right. Obama, what is he, Hispanic?” “No, he’s black.” “And he’s running for president? Good luck.”
Jack is doing a contract negotiation with Josh. He’s playing hardball.
Jenna’s appearance on Hardball doesn’t go well. “if the president is so serious about the war on terror, why doesn’t he hunt down and capture Barack Obama before he strikes again? It’s time for a change, America. That’s why I’m voting for Osama in 2008.”
There’s another cameo from Rachel Dratch protesting against Jenna.
Josh calls in sick, then Liz finds him talking to someone from the Daily Show in the 30 Rock coffee shop. “And by the way, what kind of moron calls out sick and then comes to work to have a meeting?” “I get an NBC discount here.” “Idiot!” Then, to the Daily Show guy “I’m a big fan of your show.”
The last chance for Jenna is a big patriotic musical number which takes a nosedive when the pinwheel fireworks don’t spin.
Outside the building, the protests are getting angry. Tracy is attacked by protestors. Suddenly, Gris and Dotcom appear, to the strains of the theme from The Bodyguard, I Will Always Love You, except it’s sung by Tracy and Kenneth.
Media Centre Description: Sitcom set behind the scenes of a late-night sketch show. Jenna lands herself in hot water with her comments in a magazine interview; Liz upsets Jack’s negotiations over Josh’s new contract; and Tracy recruits Kenneth to be a member of his entourage.

The next recording is another episode of 30 Rock – The Source Awards.
Jack has bought a vineyard producing sparkling wine, Donaghy Estates. But it turns out to be disgusting.
Tracy suddenly has a hip hop producer called Ridikolus as his enemy because Kenneth wouldn’t let him into Tracy’s party. He’s played by LL Cool J. “You tell Tracy Jordan that Ridikolus is going to eat his family.”
Liz has another brief meeting with the guy who sent her flowers by mistake.
Liz has a date with Steven, a lawyer who’s working for Tracy, after they hit it off at the party. She gradually finds that they have nothing in common.
Jack intervenes in the Ridikolus beef. He wants his sparkling wine to become the signature drink of Hip Hop. And offers to get Tracy to host the Source awards.
Liz finally has to tell Steven that she doesn’t think they’re compatible. “Steven, you’re obviously a really nice guy, but I just don’t think we’re a good match.” “Yeah, I know. I get it. It’s because I’m black.” “What?” “I said, I get it. You don’t like me because I am black.” “What? You think I am racist? That is just nasty and negative.” “What did you call me under your breath?” “Nothing. I am not racist.”
Filming an Ad for Donaghy Estates Sparkling Wine, Ghostface Killah has to stop the shoot because the wine is so bad.
Next day, Liz tries to explain to Steven. “Steven, listen to me, okay? And please, believe what I’m saying. I truly don’t like you as a person. Can’t one human being not like another human being? Can’t we all just not get along?” “Liz, I wish it could be like that. And maybe someday our children or our children’s children will hate each other like that. But it just doesn’t work that way today.” “So what you’re saying is any woman that doesn’t like you is racist.” “No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Some women are gay.”
Tracy finally agrees to host the Source awards, but only in costume as Oprah, despite being terrified that Ridikolus will kill him.
Tracy brought a gun with him.
Liz tries to take the gun from Tracy, and accidentally shoots Steven in the bum.
Media Centre Description: Sitcom set behind the scenes of a late-night sketch show. While Jack forces Tracy to host the Source Awards, Liz tries to convince her African-American date that she is not racist.

After this, there’s the start of an episode of Quiz Call.
Here’s the ad breaks from The Simpsons.
Here’s the handful of ads from Moving Wallpaper. At last they’ve got a new trail for Nick Hancock’s Duel which doesn’t have him wandering around like a confused uncle at a wedding.
