The first recoding today starts with the end of BB3B.
Then, it’s an episode of Secret Show – Secret Sleep.
The show opens with the cast performing some Irish dancing.
Everyone’s tired.
The chief’s name today is Snugglebunny.
Everyone is having the same dream about Irish dancing, and waking up tired. To investigate they have to fall asleep under laboratory conditions. I love that Snugglebunny has his fireplace with him.
Anita’s dream features a horse. “Princess! I haven’t seen you since I was eight.”
Victor meets Agent Zed in his dream, he an agent on the astral plane who can help them find out why everyone is dreaming tiring dreams.
The chief’s dream sees him get the new name Rock Justice. He’s quite disappointed when he realises it’s a dream.
Agent Zed tells them that it’s Doctor Doctor behind the dreaming which is making everyone tired. “Even as I speak banks are being robbed as tellers snooze. And old ladies are having their purses pinched while policemen sleep,”
But in a shock twist, Agent Zed is really Doctor Doctor. “But I’ve met him loads of times.” “He’s a recurring dream. Get over it.”
“Princess you can fly.” “Very imaginative.” “Climb on board Victor. I can fly just as fast with two.” That’s a Two Little Boys reference isn’t it?
Doctor Doctor isn’t impressed. “You think I can be stopped by a little pony?” “This isn’t just any little pony. This is my little pony.” I love this show so much. My MLP loving children really appreciated that joke.
To break Doctor Doctor’s hold over them, Anita gets Professor Professor to sing his mother’s Bavarian howl, which she used to sing as a lullaby, but which was so loud and strident they couldn’t possibly sleep. “Go to sleep… Counting Sheep… There are several…” Quite a while ago, when I mentioned I had a lot of episodes of this show on my hard drives, my oldest daughter remembered this scene, and asked if I could rip the audio for an alarm on her phone. So now, almost every evening, when it’s time for her to think about going to bed, her phone starts blaring Professor Professor shrieking “Go to sleep… Counting Sheep… There are several…”
Everyone joins in the group howl.
The Dream Gem that Doctor Doctor was using to make everyone dream is shattered.
Media Centre Description: Comedy series for 7-12 year olds about two agents in a top-secret organisation. Under strict laboratory conditions, Victor and Anita enter the dream world. They discover that Doctor Doctor is controlling dreamers with an ancient dream crystal and forcing them to dance an Irish reel in their sleep. After a fitful night’s sleep, the population is too tired to work, making them much easier to rob during the day. Victor and Anita call on the power of their own dreams to stop her.

This recording continues with another episode of Secret Show – Super-Vic! This one is here in full, so I’m assuming I might have set it to record 15 minutes longer than necessary to catch the whole episode. But as a result I don’t have the Media Centre information.
“Professor Professor someone’s robbing a bank.” “A bank robbery? That’s a job for the police, Victor. Nickel and dime stuff.” “No, it’s the bank. Someone’s robbing the bank.”
It’s being stolen by a flying kid. Victor accidentally grabs his cape, which turns out to be the source of his powers.
The kid is upset at being stopped. “I’m gonna tell my mom on you.”
“And today you may call me… Mimsy Woowoo.”
Unfortunately, the boy Victor took the cape from is the son of Eartha Quakea. “You have broken the agreement Victor. We leave her alone and she leaves the entire Universe alone.” “And now you’ve messed with her boy.” “You must find her and return this cape or else.”
Victor isn’t happy that everything’s his fault, and gets distracted by a disaster.
Unfortunately, the runaway train he spotted was actually a rollercoaster. He starts being called the caped clown on the news.
Eartha Quakea attacks the UZZ pod.
“Did I hear a call for help? Well help is at hand. Fear not! For I am…” “The caped clown. We’re saved.” “No no no, I’m…” “Victor!” “This is all your fault, Victor.” “But I’m wearing a mask, how did you guys know it was me?”
The superpowers go to Victor’s head somewhat. “Victor having a magic cape doesn’t mean you can go around doing whatever you want. You need to grow up. You need to…” Victor blows a raspberry at her.
But the have to work together to stop Eartha. Victor distracts her to give Anita the opportunity to grab her cape, which they then send into the Sun.
“Thanks to you Victor and Anita, the world can once again sleep safely in its bed. Beds.” “And I guess I’ve learned something too You don’t need a super cape to do super work. “Talking of capes. What’s happened to the kid’s cape? Shouldn’t we get rid of that one too?” “Professor Professor Away!” “So much for a moral.”
After this episode, the recording stops with an episode of Thumb Wrestling Federation.
The next recording starts with the end of Thumb Wrestling Federation.
Then, another episode of Secret Show – Ammonites Rule!
For some reason, Sweet Little Granny is missing from the intro, and Ray can’t resist singing the song himself, accompanied by the other agents.
Victor and Anita are following a huge meteor towards Earth.
The meteor is full of packages, and the Imposters shoot a probe into one of the boxes.
“Today you may call me… Nibbles McPee.”
The packages contained the parts for a portal to another world. But it collapses because of the Imposter’s probe. Professor Professor is defensive. “I followed all the instructions. It’s complicated, you know. What do you think it is? A Swedish wardrobe?”
“Human beings don’t own the earth. We rent it from the planet’s former occupants, the Ammonites.” “We rent the earth? From Ammonites?” “Yes, and we have to pay the rent once every thousand years, or we have to move out. And this device would have taken you to the Ammonites’ new planet, Ammoniah, to deliver the rent.”
“So now you will have to fly there in my totally untested and highly dangerous spaceship.” “What spaceship?” “I have named it Professor Professor Professor. After the son, I never had. It should get us to Ammoniah in under 24 hours.” “So are you traveling with us in the Professor Professor Professor, Professor Professor?” “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.”
“You’ll need the rent book.” “And the rent?” “Oh, the rent is nothing more than this rare slipper orchid from the top of Mount Kenabalu of the South China Sea.” “That’s the rent?” “Yes. If that flower still survives on earth, then the Ammonites knew that we are caring for their world. And all is well.” “Oh, what a wonderful poetic way to… Hold on. This flower’s plastic!” “Yes, the real ones died out years ago due to global warming. Goodbye.”
On the way they are attacked by the Imposters. “I’m going to swing us round the back of that planet, then engage the totally untested and highly dangerous cloaking device.” “Our cloaking device was an umbrella?”
The Imposters steal the rent. Victor tries to get it back, but the ship is so hot it melts the orchid.
Nibbles McPee appears, having fixed the portal, gets the rent book back, and then vanishes.
Just when it looks like the Earth is safe for another thousand years, the Imposter ship crashes, and the other orchid melts.
Until they can fix everything on the Ammonites’ list, they are exiled to the moon.
“How are you and the team doing, Agent Ray? Is the Earth back in order yet?” “We’re still replanting the rainforest, Nibbles McPee. Could take till Tuesday.” “Tuesday?” “Yeah, and then there’s the ozone to sort out. So, well, you’re looking at a couple of weeks.” “A couple of weeks? When you did the estimate, you said it’d be ready Thursday.” “Yeah, but I’ve got this other job on. And then there’s this last thing on the Ammonites list. What is a dodo? And where do I find one?”
Media Centre Description: Comedy series for seven- to 12-year-olds about two agents in a top secret organisation. It’s time to pay rent on the Earth. Victor and Anita must deliver a rare slipper orchid to the Ammonites of Ammoniah, as proof of mankind’s ability to look after Earth and continue their tenancy. But the orchid is extinct, and all Victor and Anita have is a plastic replica. Will the Ammonites notice? And why are Impostors chasing them?

The next episode continues straight after, and this recording stops during that.
Luckily, the next recording has the rest of that episode, Secret Show – Victor of the Future. Except that’s not what this episode is. This episode is Monument Racers.
It’s Acorn Day, “Which means we’ll be collecting acorns all day long. Now then, how many do you think will collect this year, children?”
A very large pile of acorns drops on Sweet Little Granny. Ray says “28,610. Show’s over. Let’s move on. Clear? Clear. Clear. Run the ow! Who’s throwing acorns? Hey, I’m wearing glasses. Stop it!”
It’s Sweet Little Granny. “You’re a very rude young man. Move on, indeed. I’ll move you on, you cheeky pup. Oh, it’ll take forever to clear this lot up. So you might as well watch something while I find a broom. I know. Run the Secret Show. I’ve always wanted to say that.”
Someone is racing monuments. “And now, over to our architecture correspondent. So, Alphonse, which will win? Eiffel Tower or Big Ben? What’s your call?” “Eiffel Tower. It’s more pointy.” Nice to see a cameo from Alphonse.
“Ha! My name isn’t changed daily just for the fun of it, you know. Today, you may call me… Sammy’s Horse Box.”
The racers are two students of Professor Professor’s old teacher, Professor Zoomottle.
Before Victor can get them, one of them is captured by Doctor Doctor.
Cameo from Sweet Old Grandpa.
Doctor Doctor uses the weird little motor thingies to steal all the world’s banks.
U.Z.Z. fights back with more monuments.
They don’t manage to catch the banks, but Professor Zoomottle tells them that the weird little motor thingies will go thermal after 20 minutes, and be unstoppable, sending all the world’s banks to the moon. “Okay, so where are the shops?” “Oh, it doesn’t look like there are any!” “All this money! And nowhere to spend it!”
Media Centre Description: Comedy series for 7-12 year olds about two agents in a top-secret organisation. Victor of the Future has a warning for U.Z.Z.

The next recording is The Simpsons – A Milhouse Divided.
Marge throws a dinner party, and Milhouse’s parents spend the whole time arguing, and Luann asks for a divorce.
Kirk is taking it as well as can be expected. “And another great thing, you get your own bed. I sleep in a racing car, do you?” “I sleep in a big bed with my wife.” “Oh, yeah.”
Luann’s new boyfriend is from Gladiators.
There’s another meme.
We see a flashback to Homer and Marge’s wedding, which was in a Las Vegas Chapel.
Homer tries to make things better, like helping cut her hair.
But he realises it’s no good. “Marge deserves someone who will treat her right. Marge deserves a fresh start. I’d like to file for divorce.” “These things happen. eight dollars.”
But that’s a fakeout, as Homer wanted Marge to have a second wedding with all her friends.
Media Centre Description: When Milhouse’s parents get a divorce, Homer grows convinced that his own marriage is in jeopardy.

There’s another trail for The Last Enemy, an iPlayer promo and a Radio Four promo. Then the recording stops with the start of Antiques Roadshow.
The next recording is listed as a repeat of yesterday’s Thank God You’re Here but it’s only 92 seconds long, so I guess I must have stopped it recording. Why I bothered to archive it is a mystery.
Media Centre Description: Comedy show presented by Paul Merton in which celebrity guests are sent through a door into a situation which they know nothing about, and must take their cues from the show’s ensemble cast to survive the rest of the scene. Comic actress and Spaced star Jessica Hynes, Cold Feet star John Thomson and comedian Marcus Brigstocke are tonight’s guests. Plus, Paul Merton steps into his own scene which he knows nothing about.

Finally today, an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
After a medical exam during which his heart rate spikes when he’s looking at the young black nurse Renee, Larry has lunch with his friend Richard Lewis, who happens to be going out with Renee. They have what feels like a creepy conversation about her expectations, as a black woman, about sex which is inevitably mostly about dick size. Richard hasn’t had sex yet because he’s worried. Larry then offers to “step in”. “It would be a nice 10th anniversary present for me.”
He then assumes the black man outside waiting for his car is a valet.
Wanda Sykes saw him, and takes the opportunity to rib him about his social faux pas.
Larry has to buy a gift for a baby shower. He asks about the only doll in the shop. It’s a “Biracial” doll, which Larry finds interesting.
He gives the doll to the couple, but he also brought another gift, for the surrogate who’s actually carrying the baby. She wasn’t expecting any gifts and they talk. He tells her he’s a writer, then says “You know, like, for example, I got this friend. She just gave a script to me to give to somebody. She said, don’t let him touch my baby, you know. That’s what they do. You work on something for months and months, then they take it away from you, and then that’s it. You never see it again. They take your baby from you, they give your baby to somebody else, and that’s it. You’ve lost complete contact with your baby. You never see the baby again, and it’s your baby, and they give it to another writer, and that writer doesn’t let you even look at your baby.”
Mel Brooks appears as himself as Larry is rehearsing for The Producers.
His co-star is David Schwimmer. They’re worried when they find he’s wearing a heart monitor because of the doctor’s visit. Schwimmer’s dad is there, and he’s very cool to Larry, so presumably Larry said something before that’s upset him.
Later he stops at the side of the road, and calls David Schwimmer’s dad to apologise for whatever he said but before he can leave a message someone drives into the back of him and he starts swearing. He gets out of the car, shouting at the man, who immediately grabs a tire iron from his boot, at which point Larry starts clutching his chest and pulling the heart monitor from his chest, and the man is suddenly concerned for him.
Cut to Larry being wheeled onto an ambulance. “Seriously, the guy was coming after me with a tire iron. I faked the whole thing. You understand what I’m saying? This is ridiculous. There’s nothing wrong with me. This is just so unnecessary.”
As he’s driving in the back of the ambulance he sees a large group of people running along the pavement, then sees they’re all running after the surrogate that he spoke to at the baby shower.
Larry is back in the doctor’s office, and avoiding looking at Renee when she comes in, then she tells the doctor that the husband of the ‘mother’ at the surrogate baby shower is coming in right after Larry, and Larry knows he’s threatened to hit him, so his heart rate starts spiking again.
Media Centre Description: American sitcom. Larry’s attempt to buy a surrogate mother a gift backfires.
