There’s a lot to get through today.

The first recording starts with the end of BB3B

There’s a trail for new cartoons.

Then, an episode of Secret ShowReptogator Attack.

“And it is for reasons of security that my name is changed daily. Today, you may call me… Wibbly Wobbly Bobbly.”

Reptogators are attacking – alien creatures that can suck out information from your head.

Anita is slightly injured when they have to protect “The Kid” from an attack from Reptogators, so Victor is assigned a new partner, Valerie Volga.

Victor and Valerie have to find The Kid before the reptogators. Unfortunately, Valerie shockingly turns out to be a disguised Reptogator, and when she and Victor find the Kid, she grabs him.

Lucky the Kid can talk Reptogator, and helps them escape from their underground lair. “it’s Transitional Gator guttural. I picked it up when I negotiated the peace treaty.” “What about Valerie?” “Just a Reptogator who went rogue. Won’t happen again.”

Victor has been patronising the Kid all through this, but learns that the Kid actually runs UZZ.

Media Centre Description: Comedy series for 7-12 year olds about two agents in a top-secret organisation. Anita is injured trying to protect ‘The Kid’ from Reptogators – ferocious monsters that live 60 miles underground and have the ability to suck your brains out. Victor gets a new partner – Valerie Volga. Together they must track down ‘The Kid’ and bring him in before the Reptogators can get their tentacles on him. But there’s something not quite right about Valerie – she growls a lot and smells terrible!

This recording actually cuts off before the end of the episode, but the next recording carries on. It’s Secret ShowMr Atom.

“Oh, excuse-moi. As you’re aware by now, my name for reasons of security is changed daily. Today, you may call me… Pinky-Woodle.”

Mr Atom is the smallest UZZ agent, who can get into people’s brains and control them. And he’s voiced by Mike Reid (off of Easteners and Runaround, not the Radio One DJ).

Mr Atom is annoyed at the way Victor, Anita and Professor Professor talk about him, and when Victor accidentally steps on him, he takes his revenge by controlling Pinky Woodle’s brain. “Now hear this. The base is now at alert level code custard. Agents Victor Volt and Anita Knight, and Professor Professor are to be eliminated. Code custard, code custard.”

Professor Professor uses a growth ray to grow Pinky Woodle so that Anita and Victor can fly up his nose and into his brain to get Mr Atom.

But because the UZZ agents were firing lasers insode his brain to capture Victor and Anita, the giant Pinky Woodle starts going a bit Godzilla. Professor Professor uses his shrink ray, but shrinks him too much, and Pinky Woodle ends up in Professor Professor’s eye.

Victor and Mr Atom have to put their differences aside to stop Pinky Woodle making Professor Professor’s head explode.

Media Centre Description: Comedy series for seven- to 12-year-olds about two agents in a top secret organisation. Mr Atom, the smallest man in the world, takes revenge on U.Z.Z. from inside Changed Daily’s brain. Victor and Anita run riot through Changed Daily’s brain to get Mr Atom out.

After this, the recording stops with the start of Thumb Wrestling Federation.

The next recording starts with the end of Thumb Wrestling Federation.

There’s a trail for a new game on the CBBC Website called Run.

Then, another episode of Secret ShowA Hairy Scary World. Professor Professor’s cure for baldness has got out of control.

“Yes, it is for reasons of security that my name has changed daily! In fact, today you may call me… Broccoli Spears!”

The only cure for the growing hair is a DNA transplant from Professor Professor’s brother, Maestro. Victor and Anita find the Professor’s mother, Frau Frau, and learn their tragic family secret. “My little Maestro wrote an opera to become a Maestro Maestro! But, he could never finish it! So, what did he do? He ripped it to pieces and ran away! See? He’s gone! But, I always keeped his opera! Oh, how I miss my little Maestro!”

The hair also has giant head lice.

To lure Maestro out of hiding, they have to stage his unfinished opera. Alphonse the artist takes the lead role in “The Little Bitty Sapling” as Maestro himself, in a stirring musical portrayal of family dynamics and sibling rivalry. “Oh, little bitty sapling! Oh, little bitty tree! When I’m the greatest Maestro, you will be my baton! You will be the baton for me! Ha, ha, ha! The baton for me!” Then Victor does a great turn as Professor Professor. “I want a pointy stick! Oh, little bitty tree! When I’m a great professor! You will be my pointy stick! You’ll make the finest pointy stick for me! Ha, ha, ha, ha! A pointy stick for me!”

Anita plays Frau Frau. “Boys, what is all this noise?” “Who do you love best? Just get it off your chest!” “I think I might have guessed. Just tell us! Who do you love best?” “Is it me?” “Of course it’s him!” “Is it him?” “No, it’s him!” “Who who who who who?” Frau Frau gives the stick to Professor Professor. “Him!” Cue curtain.

Maestro finally reveals himself, and Frau Frau sings the truth. “You silly boys! You silly boys! I love you both the same! I love you both the same!” “She really does, she really does! She loves us both the same!”

This really is magnificent. Why is this show not better known?

Media Centre Description: Comedy adventure series for seven-to-twelve-year-olds about secret people doing secret things and saving the world. Professor Professor’s hair growth experiment goes horrible wrong, leaving Victor and Anita to fight giant head lice and perform an opera!

This recording ends with the start of the next episode, which is continued into the next recording, which is Secret ShowWorld Savers.

A giant robot, the Gobblotron, is menacing people. Before Victor and Anita can stop it, two other heroes appear and take it down. They call themselves World Savers Inc.

UZZ are not impressed. “We, at UZZ, could never support such despicable profiteering from the world’s security. On the contrary, it is for reasons of security. My name is changed daily. Today, you may call me… Ah! Foo-Foo-Flubber-Faucet.”

Unfortunately, not everyone is as civic minded as Foo-Foo-Flubber-Faucet, as Professor Professor takes a job at World Savers.

He even has an assistant now. Who throws a strop until Professor Professor makes their next project a big bashy arm to bash Gobblotrons.

They try to hire Anita.

She uses this offer to get some inside info, but when Professor Professor tries to show her the big bashy arm, it’s gone. And by a remarkable coincidence, another Gobblotron is menacing London, and it’s got a big bashy arm.

World Savers save the day again.

But Professor Professor has the remote control for his bashy arm, and uses it to grab them. “This wasn’t in the script!” “Are you sure, Roger?” “Script? They’ve got a script? Hey, these guys aren’t World Savers. They’re phonies! This whole invasion thing is a fraud!” “Okay, okay, we’re actors. We just do what we’re told.”

The real villain behind the gobblotron is Professor Professor’s assistant assistant. “My World Saver stores would have made me a trillionaire thanks to my Gobblotron and hired actors!”

“Saving the world in a shameless attempt to boost product sales is, of course, no way to run a top organisation! No! To celebrate UZZ being the planet’s only world defenders again, we’re releasing this little set of commemorative figurines!”

Media Centre Description: Comedy series for 7-12 year olds about two agents in a top-secret organisation. U.Z.Z.’s reputation as the world’s ‘number one’ protector is under threat by a rival organisation called World Savers Inc. But are World Savers really good guys or is it yet another plot to take over the world?

After this there’s a trail for M.I. High.

Then the recording stops with the start of an episode of DinoSapien.

The next recording stars with some T4 as Steve Jones interviews Katherine Heigl about her new film 27 Dresses. How was Steve Jones not put on some kind of register for this kind of thing I don’t know.

Then it’s an episode of The SimpsonsShe of Little Faith.

Homer launches a rocket (built by local nerds) from the garden. It ends up hitting the church and causing a lot of damage.

Mr Burns funds the repairs, but turns it into a more commercial operation.

Lisa is appalled, and looks for an alternative, finding the local Buddhist Temple, and guest star Richard Gere.

The family try to bring her back at Christmas.

Richard Gere tells Lisa that Buddhists can respect other religions, so she goes back home. “You came back!” “Yeah, I wanted to spend Christmas with you guys.” “So you’re back on the winning team?” “No, I’m still Buddhist, but I can worship with my family, too.” “So you’re just going to pay lip service to church?” “Uh-huh.” “That’s all I ever asked.”

Media Centre Description: As Christmas approaches, Lisa searches for a new religion, because Mr Burns has taken over her church and is running it like a corporation. With the guest voice of Richard Gere.

Recorded from Channel 4 on Sunday 9th March 2008 15:38

The next recording starts with the end of Match of the Day Live.

There’s a trail for Hotel Babylon. And one for Sport Relief Does The Apprentice.

Then there’s the last episode of Life in Cold BloodArmoured Giants.

David Attenborough is looking at tortoises.

Turtles too, including the Pig-nosed Turtle.

Their eggs are the only eggs in the animal world which required them to be immersed in water to hatch. “Their unique waiting strategy ensures that no matter how late the rains are, the young turtles only emerge when the rivers are full and there’s plenty to eat.”

There’s a scary sequence where a male and female marine turtle are having sex, but all the other males in the vicinity try to get them apart so they can have a turn.

The programme also looks at crocodiles, alligators and caiman.

Sometimes, David Attenborough scares me. “Communication between alligators can be very subtle and quiet. But there are some occasions when they really want to make their meaning very unambiguously clear. And one of those is when they’re guarding their nests. As this one is.” So he goes and pokes it with a stick and it lunges at him.

Here’s some baby caiman sitting in their mother’s back.

Media Centre Description: David Attenborough meets the reptile heavyweights – the tortoises, turtles and crocodiles, showing what it’s like to live within a suit of armour, and revealing a dynamic, warm and caring side to these ancient giants. Mating giant tortoises fit together like spoons, green turtles passionately mate in tropical seas, a mother spectacled caiman rescues a huge creche of babies and sophisticated saltwater crocodiles ambush fish just like bears catching salmon.

After this, there’s a trail for The Passion.

Then the recording stops with the start of Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year.

The next recording is another episode of The SimpsonsSweets and Sour Marge.

Homer tries to get the town into the Duff Book of Records by making the largest human pyramid.

it turns into a rolling human ball, and because it ends up on a truck weighing station, the Duff Record Inspectors declare that Springfield holds the record for world’s fattest town.

Marge is horrified at all the sugar everyone’s eating (which is odd because she’s the one who presumably buys it all) so she confronts the CEO of Motherloving Sugar Corp, played by Ben Stiller.

Sugar is banned from Springfield after Marge’s class action suit.

The Kwik-E-Mart has nothing to sell.

There’s some sugar smuggling.

Media Centre Description: After Springfield wins the title of World’s Fattest Town, Marge launches an anti-sugar crusade. With the guest voice of Ben Stiller.

Recorded from Channel 4 on Sunday 9th March 2008 16:15

After this, there’s the start of Alive – Desert Island Shipwreck.

The next recording starts with the end of Newsround.

There’s a trail for CBBC Run.

Then, a new episode of M.I. HighRed Button Rampage.

A boy genius (second one today) needs protection, so he comes to St Hope’s for the day along with a squad of soldiers, so Lenny gets the school to have an army day.

The protection is led by General Ryan Scarp, a hero of the SAS who once broke out of prison by digging a hole with his pen.

Daisy has to befriend the genius, Dylan Towser, who works out she’s a spy fairly quickly.

There’s the obligatory stern drill sergeant who gets the kids to do various assault course exercises.

Dylan and Daisy are kidnapped by General Scarp, who doesn’t like the idea of world peace that Dylan’s invention, the Missile Disarmer, might bring.

Under the guise of a test of the disarmer, Scarp gets the UN to let him launch missiles at “every major city in the world. So that’s six cities. One of which is in Canada.

The crusty drill sergeant is taught a lesson about helping people, so comes to the aid of the agents and Dylan.

Dylan has to rebuild his disarmer after Scarp smashed it, and does so just in time to stop all the missiles.

Media Centre Description: Children’s spy drama. Dylan Towser has world peace in his grasp with his missile disarmer. General Scarp brings him and the army into St Hope’s for a drill day to protect him from a kidnap plot. However, when Daisy and Towzer are taken from under their noses, Blane realises war-mongering Scarp is the culprit. He doesn’t want an end to armies, and only world war will secure the military’s future. In the final battle, will our spies emerge victorious?

After this there’s a trail for M.I. High. Then the recording stops with the start of Freefonix.

Next there’s three episodes of Curb Your Enthusiasmand I’ve just noticed that they all have the same timestamp. So either all three of these episode were on one after another, and I edited them out as separate files, so they kept the same timestamp, or (less likely) they were actually on at completely different days or times, and somehow the way I was editing them copied the timestamp from one particular file. I’m not sure how this would happen, but it would explain the slight oddity that these three episodes are from three different seasons of the show

First there’s  Curb Your EnthusiasmOpening Night. Larry is in New York with a couple of days before he opens in The Producers. Among the many awkward encounters he has, there’s a cameo from Stephen Colbert as a tourist who asks Larry to take his and his wife’s picture, gets annoyed with how Larry is taking it, then when he realises who Larry is, and he’s going to see the show on opening night, he tells him “You will fail”.

David Schwimmer lost his watch in the hotel, Larry finds it on the chambermaid’s trolley, but when he gets to the rehearsal, he’s lost it, and Schwimmer says he owes him a new watch.

There’s a cameo from Nathan Lane.

He pretends to have OCD so his co-star Cady Huffman might like him. There’s some “10th Anniversary Present” everyone keeps talking about which I’m guessing is like a free pass to cheat with one person. But he’s distracted by the fact she has a picture of George W Bush on her dressing table.

He gave tickets to various hotel workers, including the man who fixed his air conditioning, and when he runs into him at the theatre, he notices that he’s wearing David Schwimmer’s watch. He tries to explain, but the man says “Finders Keepers” and there’s a bit of a scuffle.

Obviously Mel Brooks is in it.

This is an extra long episode, and there’s a surprising amount from the musical in it. Larry isn’t bad.

But there comes a point when he can’t remember his line, and the audience (including Jerry Seinfeld) get uncomfortable, and there are a lot of walkouts.

But Larry’s cousin starts arguing with the hotel repair man who is sitting in front of him, complaining that he should take off his turban as he can’t see anything, so larry breaks character and starts joking about his cousin. The audience start laughing at this, and start going back to their seats.

Meanwhile, in the bar, Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft are laughing. “Did you see the look on their faces? When Larry David forgot every line he had. He went up in smoke.” “God, I’m so glad. I’m so thankful. Thank God that this damn play is going to be over. We’re going to get our lives back.” “He has freed us from the anchor, from the albatross of The Producers, which has invaded our lives every single minute, every hour of every day.” “Trapping us.” “No more openings in Cleveland. No more sleeping in dirty beds in Pittsburgh. We’re free, free at last. Isn’t it wonderful?” “How did you know that he could ruin the show? How?” “The minute I laid eyes on him, I said, this guy is a disaster. He’s a living disaster. He’s a storm. He’s like a storm that will destroy everything in its path. I mean, he’s got this gift. Everything he touches, he dooms. He’s a little cyclone, a little tornado destroying the St. James Theater.” “I know.” “Any minute now, the show will be dead. Here, a toast to the death of The Producers. May it rest in peace.” They are disappointed when it’s a hit.

Media Centre Description: The show travels to New York. Larry and David Schwimmer star in The Producers on Broadway.

Recorded from More 4 on Monday 10th March 2008 00:08

The next episode comes from the next season, it’s Curb Your EnthusiasmThe Christ Nail.

Larry is caught playing with Jeff’s wife’s bra as he tries to see if it’s the right size for his housekeeper, because Cheryl has asked him to tell her she needs to wear a bra. Relatable content as ever.

He needs to put a Jewish mezuzah on the door frame as his father is visiting, but his handyman won’t do it (because Larry asked his wife to wear a bra) so Larry needs to nail it to the door, and the only nail he can find is one worn by Cheryl’s father who’s a Christian, who wears a nail from The Passion of the Christ around his neck.

Media Centre Description:

Recorded from More 4 on Monday 10th March 2008 00:08

The last episode is Curb Your EnthusiasmThe N Word.

Larry does a nice thing for his houseguests, clearing a bit of the garden so Auntie Rae can grow vegetables. She hugs him, but holds him a bit too long, and he becomes aroused, she notices and calls him disgusting.

Having lunch with Jeff, Larry feels the waitress discriminated against him because he’s bald.

His other houseguests are appalled at Larry’s arousal with Auntie Rae.

It gets worse when Larry’s parked, and trying to massage his groin because he’s strained it, and Auntie Rae assumes he’s doing something else.

He has a date with a doctor, and next day, she gives him a note, as a thank you, but he can’t read it, and asks a random person if she can read it, but she can’t help.

In the toilet, he hears another man talking on the phone, and he uses the N-Word. When Larry is recounting this to his doctor friend, he also uses the N-Word and a black doctor hears him and gets very angry.

So angry, in fact, that when he’s supposed to be operating on Jeff to fix his snoring, he instead shaves his head.

Then when Jeff and his wife come round to find out how Larry traumatised the doctor, he repeats the story, and his houseguest hears him using the N-Word.

Jeff has a meeting with Ben Stiller to pitch to be his agent, but Ben can’t get over Jeff being bald.

I guess I didn’t add enough extra time for these recordings as this episode cuts off before the end.
