The first recording today is a repeat of The Simpsons – Bart Carny.
Media Centre Description: A carnival worker and his son move in with the Simpsons after Homer causes them to lose their jobs. Featuring the voice of Jim Varney.
Recorded from Channel 4 on Sunday 6th April 2008 15:48
This recording ends with quite a bit of the next episode.
The next recording is the rest of this episode, The Simpsons – The Joy of Sect.
Homer gets hooked on a cult (along with most people in the town it sounds like).
Mr Burns wants to get in on the religious leader tax exempt status.
Marge escapes.
She kidnaps Homer and the kids and brings them for deprogramming.
But the cult’s lawyers intervene.
When Homer’s back at the cult, he wants to show the rest of them that the Leader has been lying about building a spaceship in the forbidden barn. But it looks like he wasn’t.
But when the craft takes off, it doesn’t get far.
“To think I’d turn to a cult for mindless happiness when I had beer all along. And you, Marge, bringer of beer.” “It’s wonderful to think for ourselves again.” “You said it, sister.” The TV says “You are watching Fox.” “We are watching Fox.”
Media Centre Description: Marge tries her hand at deprogramming after her family is brainwashed by a religious cult.
Recorded from Channel 4 on Sunday 6th April 2008 16:25
After this, there’s the start of Swimming With Sharks – not the Kevin Spacey film, but a survival documentary.
Next, a recording which starts with trails for Eastenders and Young Mums’ Mansion.
Then, a repeat of Doctor Who – Partners in Crime from yesterday.
Media Centre Description: Donna is determined to find the Doctor again – even if it means braving the villainous Miss Foster and her hordes of sinister Adipose.
Recorded from BBC THREE on Sunday 6th April 2008 19:58
BBC Genome: BBC THREE Sunday 6th April 2008 20:00
After this, there’s a trail for The Wall.
Then there’s a whole episode of Doctor Who Confidential Cut Down – cut down from 50 minutes to ten minutes!
There’s a trail for next week’s Doctor Who.
There’s another trail for Young Mums’ Mansion and one for Pulling.
Then the recording continues with a whole episode of Gavin and Stacey. Can I just shock you? I have never watched Gavin and Stacey. So I won’t have a clue who’s what or why.
And I didn’t really like this. Everyone in it is just a bit too manic, and they all seem to be at each others’ throats.
However, this was the episode that had Rob Brydon and Ruth Jones single Islands in the Stream at a barn dance. Which was fine except that everyone was line dancing, the worst form of dancing that exists.
BBC Genome: BBC Three – Sunday 6th April 2008 – 21:00
After this there’s a trail for The Wall.
Then another whole programme, with an episode of Pulling, another show I have never seen.
I’m not having much luck here. I’d hope to discover something wonderful I’ve been missing for years, but this one didn’t really do it for me either, although I did quite like the inappropriate art show in a cafe. But generally this was a little too dark for my current tastes.
BBC Genome: BBC Three – Sunday 6th April 2008 – 21:30
After this there’s 60 Seconds of news.
There’s a George Lamb promo for Radio 6 Music and a trail for Young Mums’ Mansion.
Then the recording finally stops with the start of a teen drama, Dis/Connected. Another programme that really isn’t for me.
The final recording today starts with the end of The Real Hustle.
There’s a trail for Young Mums’ Mansion.
Then, a repeat of Doctor Who Confidential – A Noble Return (still billed as Prima Donna by Media Centre).
Media Centre Description: Behind-the-scenes look at the making of Doctor Who. Catherine Tate returns as the unstoppable Donna Noble. In her search for The Doctor, Donna finds herself face-to-face with the mighty Miss Foster and a larger-than-life threat against mankind. With the tension rising, the programme gets up close and personal with the Doctor’s latest companion from her first days on set through to her battle against an army of sinister Adipose. Features interviews with Tate, David Tennant and Sarah Lancashire.

Then BBC Three closes down.
